Important notice from Railway Recruitment Board about Application Process

In a significant move, Railway Recruitment Board [RRB] has made it mandatory for the aspirants to have Aadhaar Card while applying for any Railway recruitment. So, as of now candidates appearing for railway recruitment examination are required to keep an Aadhaar Card.  Candidates who don’t have their Aadhaar Card can not apply for any railway recruitment program.


Accordingly, Railway Recruitment Boards have decided that in all future railway recruitment, the applicants shall be required to furnish his /her 12 digit Aadhaar number or 28 digit Aadhaar registration receipt at the time of filling up the application.  During the exam, through a bio-metric attendance system, their fingerprints can be collected and matched with the one stored with the Aadhaar server.


All eligible candidates desiring to apply for the posts of Railway Recruitment Boards are requested to visit the Aadhaar Enrollment centers to get them enrolled for Aadhaar.   

However the above provision is applicable in all states except J&K, Meghalaya and Assam  and applicants from these states will have to enter the valid passport number, Voter-ID Card No., Driving license No. or any other valid Government identity Card No. in the online application form.

Earlier, Aadhar was made mandatory for JEE examination conducted for admission for graduate courses in IITs and other engineering colleges across India.
